It would be nice if you had a small instruction sheet in the package or at least on your web site. Also I'd suggest pre bending the magnifier arm piece to fit the plastic mount. What you need is a comparison chart of the different models to compare against each other. Garmin has this on their site, but only for their products. How to compare magellan or Tom Tom to Garmin? I know - go to another website. If people do that, you could lose sales. We don't have an overall comparison chart though that compares all automotive, handheld, marine and so on units. Gil had his hands full for months with his all-brand handheld chart. November 14, 2006 Fellow Concours enthusiasts, I am sending out this message to put in a plug for an outfit I have been dealing with for a while now - GPS Central in Calgary, Alberta. My first experience with this company was the purchase of some mapping software. I happened to be in Calgary at a work-related meeting at the time. The gentleman with whom I was dealing asked what hotel I was staying in, and when I gave him the location said, "Oh I go right by there on my way into work. I'll drop it off there and save you the shipping cost." Sure enough, that is exactly what he did. I was floored. In this day and age, you just don't expect that kind of friendly, personal service. Since then, I have purchased all my GPS accessories from GPS Central. Their shipping is lightning fast. Yesterday, just before lunch, I ordered a small universal holder RAM mount and ball. It was sitting on my desk when I returned after my morning coffee break today. This is over a distance of 2000 miles! This was not a fluke. My orders from GPS Central routinely arrive long before I expect them. GPS Central is a very motorcycle-friendly company. Their prices are excellent, and I believe our American friends will find them similarly competitive. I have no affiliation with this company; I am just a very happy customer. My dad will probably be good with his c330 for a while, but I live a little more on the bleeding edge of tech, so an upgrade to mine in coming years as the units integrate ever more features is a definite possibliity. When the time comes, you can rest assured that it will be to you folks that I will be coming with my dollars. Thanks for treating me right in a situation where you have absolutely no incentive to do so. Between us, we gave XXX nearly 1600 bucks... and come map update time, get treated like crap. This kind of one-on-one service was not available at my local 'big box' retailer. Add to the that the lowest prices and the excellent overall service and I can't imagine why someone would buy a GPS anywhere else. They had problems with the first one, but simply sent it back and got a new one within two days. Was very happy with the service. Greg January 04 2006 Just a short note to thank George very much for the quick replacement of my MapSource CDs on December 23 when I thought they were defective. It turns out that my DVD-ROM on my laptop broke during the installation, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the CD. With some help from Dell, everything is working very well now, and I think the Canadian topo maps are great. I tested them out in the mountains over the holidays. I will certainly recommend your store to anyone considering buying a GPS or software. Betsy |
