The
Magellan eXploristT 600 has a 3-axis electronic compass, a barometric
pressure indicator, altimeter and thermometer, plus the ability
to expand your GPS mapping via a high-speed USB data port and
unlimited secure digital (SD) card storage. The Magellan Geocache
Manager enables you to download caches directly to your eXplorist
600 and with the PC-style file memory system it's easy to manage
all of your data. Finally, the eXplorist 600 features a 16-color
display so you can see everything in brilliant color. Easily navigate
with the intuitive keypad and the joystick control. Add detailed
street maps, topo or lake maps using optional Magellan MapSend
software to expand the use of your eXplorist 600.

MB of built-in maps and 8 MB of additional memory means you can save up to 5 track
log files, 20 routes and 500 points of interest on the internal memory, but you
can store as many as you want on optional SD cards. Magellan TrueFixT technology
provides superior accuracy and reliability giving you the freedom to explore without
concern of getting lost.
Electronic compass

in the right direction even when you are standing still or upside down on a rocky
peak.

Area Calculation
Want to find the distance between three or more points
of interest that you plan to hike around or the area between them? Simply select
the points of interest on the map and the eXplorist can determine the area between
them and the perimeter around them.
Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery
The Li-Ion rechargeable battery can keep your eXplorist continuously
powered-up for up to 15 hours (with backlight not "on",
12 hours with backlight "on"). Recharge your battery
directly through your receiver again and again without reducing
its performance. Use ANY brand of Li-Ion battery (Magellan battery
is 3.7V/1300 mAh)
TrueFix Technology
TrueFix GPS technology takes advantage of 14 parallel
channels, supported by WAAS and EGNOS Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems for
fast signal acquisition, minimal signal loss and reliable accuracy to within 3
meters.
Geocache Manager
Download Geocache coordinates from Internet sites and
use them on your outdoor adventures. This unique feature makes managing coordinates
even easier with a PC-style file system. You don't have to be a geocacher to appreciate

Built-in mapping
With 8 MB of built-in North American maps it's easy
to navigate around roads, parks, waterways and to find airports and other points

To transfer maps, tracks, routes and waypoints
to SD cards or the eXplorist 600 internal memory, use the
Magellan Conversion Manager program provided on the setup

TIP: Viewing Detailed Maps on the eXplorist 400, 500, and
600
Detailed maps loaded from MapSend must be
turned on to view.
1) Once the maps have been uploaded to the eXplorist in File
Transfer mode, press the "Menu" button then select
"Preferences".
2) Select "Active Setup" in the Preferences menu,
then move to the "Detail Maps" field, press Enter
and select "Select Map". This will allow you to
browse all files on the inserted SD card and you can then
select what you want to view.
Use the ESC button to return to the map page to verify the
map is visible. |
