Garmin GPS 76

The GPS 76 is designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). This unit features a built-in quad helix antenna for superior reception and can provide position accuracy to less than three meters when receiving WAAS corrections. A remote GA27C antenna can be used with the GPS 76.

A large display measuring 1.6"W x 2.2"H gives users a clear view of information. A large numbers option allows for easy viewing at a distance, and the backlit display and keypad simpifies use in low light situtations. The waterproof GPS 76 will keep working well even if it has been submerged in water and will actually float if accidentally dropped in the water.

The GPS 76 provides 1 megabyte of internal user memory to be used for storing downloaded points of interest data. This 1 megabyte of storage area is preloaded from the factory with the Americas Marine Point Database and can be used to downloading points of interest detail from GARMIN's MapSource Points of Interest CD-ROM.

The GPS 76 can provide position accuracy to less than 3 metres when receiving WAAS corrections.

USER NOTES:
• If MapSource data is loaded to the GPS 76, the preloaded database will be erased. To recover this data the Preloaded Points of Interest Database file can be downloaded from GARMIN's web site.
• MapSource data and the Points of Interest database cannot be loaded at the same time.

MAP FEATURE DISPLAY ON THE GPS 76: Although the GPS 76 does not display maps, user "map features" can be created on a PC for download to the GPS 76 to enhance the display! Click here for suggestions.
