Garmin
GPSMAP 520/ 520s
The Garmin GPSMAP 520 has been replaced with the Garmin GPSMAP 521
The
versatile GPSMap 520/ 520s chartplotter delivers
a lot of navigation! With a bright 5"
QVGA color display and simple, straightforward buttons and menus,
the GPSMAP 520 also sports a built-in, satellite-enhanced worldwide
basemap. You can add the optional BlueChart® g2 Vision SD
card for even more enhanced features.
Like
all Garmin plotters, these utilize WAAS/EGNOS-enabled GPS receivers
for extreme high accuracy (typically within 3 meters). The
built-in sounder on the 520s combo model can scan as deep as
1500 feet/ 457 meters, with dual frequency transducer,
to clearly paint depth contours, fish targets, structure etc.
The combo 520s also offers split-screen capability, so you
can view map and sounder data simultaneously.

g2 Vision
All the new Garmin chartplotters feature basic worldwide satellite
imagery for a realistic "view from space" depiction. With
optional
g2 Vision cards, these images are upgraded to super high-detail
aerial photomapping. It's the most realistic map you've ever seen
on a graphical chartplotter. And you can navigate 'on the picture'
with a clear dynamic presentation of your boat's current position.
Auto Guidance. The optional Auto Guidance technology, unlocked
via g2 Vision card, searches chart contents to suggest the safest
known charted route for navigation.
True 3D-view mapping. Garmin's newest chartplotters wil graphically
depict true 3D "mariner's eye" topside view or "fish
eye" underwater view navigation perspective for tricky shoals,
reefs, bridges, channels etc.
"Real
Picture" Photo Reference. Aerial photography gives mariners
a realistic visual overview of harbours, marinas, waterways and
other points of reference. The photos allow a visual reference for
nearby fuel pumps, dining spots, lodging and shore-side facilities.
Also included is City Navigator North America NT road data for navigation
up to five miles inland. |
