The
dual frequency 188 Sounder combines chartplotter and sounder capabilities in one
unit which
installs easily in open cockpit and overhead boxes. The backlit display and keyboard
and large numbers option all ensure easy viewing.
A
unique design feature of this product is quick map redraws using
a high speed RISC processor. Detailed marine cartography is presented
on a high resolution FSTN, 5.5" diagonal (240 x 360 pixels),
10-level grayscale, liquid crystal display.
With
a built-in worldwide
basemap (to 32nm), the GPSMAP 188 Sounder will accept data
cards programmed with GARMIN BlueChartT
marine cartography or data from most MapSourceT
CD-ROM products.

mount transducer with depth and temperature is supplied with some GPSMAP 188 Sounders.
