"Hi
there,
My husband and I are Calgarians and have just completed an 8 month journey
across Africa. We drove independently and alone across Africa, travelling
from the most southern point of Africa to Cairo, Egypt. We drove over
32,000km through 14 countries. Our guide for the whole trip was our
trusty Garmin purchased in Calgary, Canada. The trip is not possible
without a GPS - it was an essential part of our equipment and used every
day, all day. I have enclosed some pictures of our equator crossing
and a road with hairpin turn and it was a truly of of the most hairy
roads. We are doing many presentations and always talk about our Garmin
GPS we loved it. For anyone planning to drive across Africa you can
download tracks4africa from the internet. We had the Garmin connected
to our computer for a lot of places. Drove 1000s of kilometres across
terrain which had no roads and no maps. Most overlanders used a Garmin
- it is tough enough to survive the tough and often brutal conditions,
dust, severe 1000kms of road corrugations and extreme heat."

"Hello
George: I have received the Garmin Edge 305 GPS unit and have about
10 rides with it now. It has been working very well even in the wet
winter conditions we have had lately. Here is a snapshot from a recent
ride. There is no shortage of green out here! Thanks for the GPS unit.
I will keep you updated as the season progresses. Best Regards, Bryon

"Hey
there, this ram mounting system works great for my ipod! I ordered the
RAM-B-138
Dash Mount, arm
& Diamond and RAM Medium Plastic Universal Electronics Holder RAM-HOL-UN2
from you guys. I went with the medium holder for the ipod cause
i had seen that the feet at the bottom were adjustable in order to get
my connections to my ipod, and the fact i have a plastic case on mine,
making it just a bit thinner. Together this was a great combination
to mount my ipod in my car.

"I
tried the generic vent mounts and car holders, but nothing was good
enough to hold it in place, steady, and adjustably. The vent mount kept
popping the ipod off.
"So
that's when i found ram-mounts (we use 'em at the auto plant where i
work to hold PDAs on our forklifts). And it may have cost me a little
extra, but it was soo worth it. Thanks guys for some superfast shipping
and service."
